Digital scholarly communication
There's an article in the 11/21/08 issue of The Chronicle of Higher Education on all the issues related to scholarly communication nowadays - professors wanting to put their own published work on their website, copyrights for course packs, open-access repositories, etc. The article said that libraries are taking the lead in addressing these issues, and many are hiring librarians who are experts in copyright and intellectual property.
